As if going through menopause isn’t enough of a struggle, the symptoms of menopause can prove to be even more tiresome.
I am sure you are well aware of the common symptoms associated with menopause including severe mood swings and hot flashes. But, did you know that Vertigo is also a symptom of this unavoidable change of life?
Vertigo associated with menopause can be caused by the hormonal imbalance itself, or the medications that women may take to combat the hormonal imbalance.
Vertigo, and even mild dizziness, is not fun. It can limit the activities of anyone who suffers from it. It is imperative for women to find ways to cope with their vertigo while going through this stressful time of life.
- Eat healthy – During menopause your body is completely freaked out and has enough to handle – don’t complicate your body’s imbalance with lack of nutrition or poor diet…. Feed your body when it is hungry and eat plenty of healthy protein rich snacks throughout the day.
- DRINK LOTS OF WATER! Often times women forget to drink water and instead drink many dehydrating and caffeine rich beverages. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (for more tips on this see my post on herbal remedies for vertigo)
- Relax – it is imperative to make time for your body to relax and unwind. Stress can be the actual root cause of many nasty health issues. Make a plan to de-stress whether it involves yoga, meditation or taking a long hot bath – figure out what works well for you.
